The successful candidate will work very closely with traders and will have the opportunity to learn the business while providing support to Front Office users. This position provides support for the current trading applications, while performing deployment tasks such as software builds, installations, patch upgrades, code deployments, coordinating with external application vendors on software changes, and other related tasks.

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:
-Prior experience supporting traders and trading desks is a must.
-Experience with C++.
-Proven experience with application support and administration.
-2-3 years UNIX/Linux, shell scripting (sh, ksh), problem solving and support experience in a financial markets environment. Knowledge of UNIX command shell navigation is required.
-Knowledge of basic SQL queries.
-Working knowledge of FIX protocol.
-Experience managing the software life-cycle from build through deployment. Must be able to trace and correct build errors, identifying or making code changes as necessary. Knowledge of the make utility and source-code control expected.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:
-Day-to-Day Support of Traders: hands-on assistance to ensure issues are handled quickly and effectively.
-Pro-actively managing resolution of issues.
-Management of the software release process including regression testing and co-ordination with IT Development and Quantitative Research.
-Escalate hot issues pro-actively and ensure all stakeholders are kept abreast of issues and development.
-Work on tactical technical solutions for business.
-Provide trader with Tactical fixes and enhancements.
-Analysis and Small Project Development: work with the business to generate small-scale development and/or configuration changes.
-Suggest Tools and software enhancements that will benefit the traders.
